BASF Wall Systems - Fully Committed to Sustainable Living
| Sustainable development is one of the four Strategic Pillars upon which BASF operates. Our corporate culture emphasizes the importance of taking initiatives to contribute to improved sustainability through providing products for green, high performance construction and embracing sustainability in our operations and as individual employees. The commitments of BASF, The Chemical Company and its many businesses are described in greater detail on other sites that are linked from here. We, the BASF Wall Systems business, apply our leading-edge chemistry, and technical expertise to help to build and restore structures that minimize the impact of the construction process on the environment. We contribute to sustainable construction by offering products and systems to help reduce energy usage, preserve the built environment, increase durability of buildings, and protect structures to make them last longer. We are committed to research, development and delivery of next-generation products that improve efficiency of construction and in-service performance. We are working to help minimize the natural resources needed for construction and maintenance. With an expansive and expanding product offering and a desire to contribute to a better future, we are making a significant positive impact on the environment and economy. |

Creating A Sustainability Culture to Minimize Our Eco-Footprints |
We encourage all our employees to implement sustainability practices not only in our facilities, but also in their homes. Our efforts come together under the theme iEco (I Embrace Conservation Opportunities), and are designed to help our employees understand and implement changes that have a direct positive impact on the environment. Each week, we send an “iEco” conservation tip, and we are always looking for and communicating new ideas that will help contribute to our sustainability efforts. “Green Teams” comprised of employees at each company location regularly introduce new practices designed to contribute to a smaller footprint. They have also been responsible for implementing company-wide actions, such as the recycling effort. Our robust recycling program was developed for our facilities throughout North America. We have set aggressive measures for reducing our solid waste through the education of our employees to divert as much as possible from landfills. These programs aim for continuous improvement and are intended to ensure that within our facilities we respect the environment and operate in a way that is least harmful to the environment. |
